Guild Rules

Post by Toastmastern » Sun Nov 12, 2017 7:24 pm

Before you apply to join Equity you first need to have a basic understanding of who we are as a guild and what we want to achieve, aswell as what is expected of you. For the most part, we are relatively informal and operate primarily on common sense and good will. However, we take our reputation in the WoW community very seriously, and it is necessary that all our members agree to these basic rules. By applying to the guild, you agree to uphold these rules, please read carefully.

Raiding and Improvement in Equity
As a raiding guild we define ourselves as hardcore but yet we only raid twice per week. How does that make sense you ask? Well, even though our raiding schedule is casual, our mindset when it comes to raiding and improvement is hardcore. Equity has a very dedicated team of officers that puts a great deal of time into analyzing logs and videos of all our raids in order to ensure the progress of the team. The ideal raider also has a basic understanding of warcraftlogs and is willing to spend time outside of raiding and studying tactics, to review his own logs to find areas where improvements can be made.

As a raiding member of Equity you are expected to know your class and your role very well. However, we want everyone who wants to raid with us to have a fair shot at doing so. If you want to raid with us, but you are not yet fit for the core roster, you will be provided with proper mentors and guidance to eventually be able to do so. All you have to do is ask for it. All we ask in return is your dedication and willingness to improve. A testament to this is the fact that we have members in our guild that, when they joined the guild, were far from ideal Mythic raiders but now, at present, are ranked among the top ten players of their class in the entire world. I strongly urge you to hold the leadership team responsible for providing an environment that nurtures your improvement as a player.

Equity - The community
Even though we define ourselves as a hardcore raiding guild we are not the type of guild where the members only log on for the raids and then log out again immediately after. We are all friends within the guild and together we are building a community. Spontaneous events, may it be challenge mode-instances, battlegrounds, arenas or simply random shenanigans - even in other games than World of Warcraft, are often organized by members in the guild and everyone is welcome to join. Attending those events and being social to other members of the guild is as highly esteemed as performing well during raids.

While in the guild you are representing Equity. Your actions affect our reputation and are a big impact on our interaction with the Kazzak population and even applications. Keep the guild image fun, but professional.

Within the guild, we strive to make everybody feel welcome regardless of their gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, sensitivity to crude language, or fascination with anatomy.

Real life topics such as religion, politics, and any other controversial issues are to be taken elsewhere, not in guild chat or on our forums (except off-topic).

Our Discord server is the heart of our community. We encourage everyone to spend as much time as possible on Discord to further get to know your fellow guildmates. You are always welcome to bring your friends to our Discord server, even if they are not a part of the guild, it doesn’t matter if you are playing World of Warcraft of other games. However, during raids the raid-channel is a restricted area and limited to raiders only. Also it goes without saying that we don’t tolerate foul language, insults and unreasonable amounts of trolling - not on Discord or elsewhere.

Final words
In Equity all members abide by Blizzard’s terms of service. Breach of the ToS will lead to sanctions decided by the officer team. Use of bots, DPS-scripts and the like will result in getting kicked from the guild.

Finally, remember that the officer team is here for you. If you notice an infraction to our rules, if you have an issue with another member, or if you have any other question or concern - please contact one of the officers, we will do everything in our power to help you. Thanks for taking part in this experience!
